B I O G R A P H Y

 

Kate Webb is currently a company dancer with Verb Ballets of Cleveland, OH. She is also a dance and fitness instructor, choreographer, arts administrator, and model around the region.

Kate grew up studying and dancing as a trainee with Richmond Ballet, the state ballet of VA. She found her passion for dance through an outreach program called Minds in Motion. She attended numerous intensive programs around the United States, such as Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Upon graduating from Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts, she attended Butler University on both dance and academic scholarships. While dancing with Butler Ballet, she performed in Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. After fulfilling her degree in three years, she graduated cum laude in May of 2015 with a BS in Dance-Arts Administration and high departmental honors.

Kate joined Verb Ballets in 2015, and has since had the privilege of touring to NYC, Taipei, and Havana. Some of her favorite featured roles have been in Heinz Poll’s “Eight by Benny Goodman”, Charles Anderson’s "Aposiopesis"Adam Hougland’s “K281”, and Tommie Waheed’s “Dark Matter”. She has also enjoyed performing leading roles in "The Nutcracker", both for Verb Ballets and for area dance schools. 

As an instructor, Kate strives to engage a broad audience of all ages and socioeconomic classes. She has taught in community centers, dance schools, competition studios, gyms, and private residences. Kate also uses her arts administration skills to build and promote these programs.

In addition to choreographing main stage works for Verb Ballets, she has also been commissioned to choreograph for several projects around the country, including The Miami Valley Dance Company, Apurva Shrivastava Productions, and OhioDance Festival. She directs Fairmount Dance Company and regularly choreographs for them in a wide variety of styles.

When she’s not in the studio, Kate models and collaborates with area photographers, musicians, retail establishments, and medical offices. She spends her free time attending cultural events, exploring new places, and hanging out with her family, friends, and dogs.
